A solid center jelly roll rug starts with a pre-made fabric and batting shape in the middle instead of a tight , folded coil. This technique makes starting the rug easier and prevents the lumpy or uneven centers that often happen with traditional rolled rugs. SUPPLY LIST PLEASE BRING 1 Jelly Roll or 25–30 2½” WOF strips Solid Center Fabric The amount needed depends on your desired rug size. A fabric panel works well. Please also bring backing fabric. Double-Sided Fusible Batting or Double-Sided Fusible Foam For the solid center. Batting Strips One roll of precut 2¼” batting strips is recommended. Coordinating Thread A large spool is recommended. 3–5 Bobbins Please wind them before class and bring them ready to use. 90/14 or 100/16 Needle Sewing Machine Your machine must be able to sew a zigzag stitch. ? Walking Foot or Dual-Feed Foot If available. Scissors or Thread Snips Seam Ripper Extension Table If you have one.
